About us:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced vet nurse to join our small animal practices across our Maffra and Sale locations on a casual basis.
Our Maffra hospital is an impressive facility with 5 consult rooms, dedicated room for dentistry, fully digital imaging including CT, huge surgical theatre and treatment area, plus hydrotherapy and rehabilitation. The clinic boasts a large hospital and purpose-built wards. The Sale clinic has recently relocated to new and bigger premises and can offer a wide range of services.
We have a great client base of dedicated small animal owners that trust us with the care of their animals. We provide a high standard of service and can diagnose and treat most things in-house due to the quality equipment and extensive experience amongst our vets. We refer very little.

About the Position:
We are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to join our team on a casual basis.
We are looking for a vet nurse who is passionate about implementing their high standards of patient care and can fulfill both hospital and surgical nursing roles.
This is a hands-on nursing role for an experienced nurse; you will need to have the skill set and confidence to monitor anaesthetics, perform pre and post operative procedures, collect and run blood/urine samples in Idexx machines, dental skills, radiology procedures, IV placement, fluid therapy, giving medications, admitting and discharging patients and love all things nursing.
We anticipate a minimum of 20 hours a week. This has the potential to increase to more shifts in the future.
About you:
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technician Degree is preferred but a veterinary nurse with the right experience is welcome to apply.
* 2+ years' experience with well-rounded nursing skills, with an interest in surgery and anaesthetics is a bonus.
* Commitment to promoting a positive workplace culture and continuing to improve and grow our clinic.
* You enjoy mentoring and supporting others to achieve their goals.
* Please note this is not a junior or trainee role, we need someone ready to step in and assist from day one.
