Senior Guardian Role
The role of the Senior Guardian is to deliver quality guardianship services to customers, making decisions in line with policy and legislation. This involves maintaining accurate customer records, undertaking individual and systemic advocacy to achieve positive outcomes for customers.
About the Role
This position requires a passionate and committed individual who champions the rights of people with disability. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, peers and customers, and a keen interest in social outcomes, justice and advocating for people.
* Making decisions about where a person lives, the services they receive such as personal care and therapy
* Consenting to medical and dental treatment and healthcare
* Preparing guardianship related case reports for the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal
* Working with key stakeholders such as family members, health professionals and service providers to negotiate appropriate options and positive outcomes for the person
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or equivalent in social work, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline. They must be available to travel throughout NSW and undertake after hours work where required.
