The Department
The Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation program is a Department of Health funded initiative focusing on enhanced research, education, and leadership capacity for allied health professionals.
The program aims to support the development and implementation of allied health-specific research, as well as facilitating the growth of research activity and research skills for allied health professionals.
The Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation program will provide an emerging Allied Health researcher with a 2-year funded contract to undertake priority research and facilitate the translation of high-quality research evidence to clinical practice.
The next phase of research translation at Alfred Health will focus on telehealth, workforce including professional governance and novel models, allied health assistants, and supporting leadership capability and pathways for allied health professionals.
The role will include opportunities for training and development.
Position Summary
The Alfred Health Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation Lead will design, develop, and implement research, in addition to supporting the growth of research activity and skills for allied health professionals over a 2-year period.
Key Priorities
Digital technology to improve health outcomes
Novel models of care to improve patient and health system outcomes
Increasing the evidence base for allied health interventions in an area of interest of the applicant
Qualifications And Experience Required
Recognised graduate entry-level qualification in a relevant Allied Health discipline and completed (or demonstrated significant progress towards completion) of a research doctorate (PhD).
Demonstrated track record of successful and productive research related to Allied Health practice and a strong commitment to evidence translation to improve patient outcomes and experience.
Evidence of critical thinking, innovation and system-level focus is highly desirable.
