About The Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee operations and hospital relationships for laboratories at Burnie and Devonport, with expected time at each site relatively split.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Operational oversight of two multi-disciplinary laboratories (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank/Stat Mico)
* Workflow and process management
* Ensuring laboratories release results within agreed turnaround times
* Ensuring laboratories perform within budget
* Hospital relationship management
* Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
* Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required
* Ensuring quality standards are met
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the below criteria:
* Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
* Must hold AIMS accreditation
* Minimum 3 years' experience in laboratory management
* Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships
* Experience in workflow/process review and implementation
* Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver
* Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines
* Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
* Valid and current Driver's Licence is mandatory
