We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused ICT Support Technician to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will provide front-line technical support to end users, assisting with hardware, software, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and a passion for solving technical problems to enhance user satisfaction and system performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure high availability and performance.
2. Configure and manage server infrastructure (Windows/Linux) including virtualization platforms, storage systems, and backup solutions.
3. Deploy and optimize wireless networks to provide secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity across business locations.
4. Set up, configure, and support voice telephony systems (IP telephony/VoIP) including call routing, voicemail, and unified communications.
5. Design, configure, and maintain enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud-based storage), ensuring availability, scalability, and data integrity.
6. Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN and storage performance, ensuring minimal downtime and resolving issues proactively.
7. Perform regular system health checks, patch management, capacity monitoring, and preventive maintenance to safeguard infrastructure reliability.
8. Implement and maintain security controls, including access management, network segmentation, encryption, and compliance with organisational IT policies.
9. Provide technical support and guidance to staff for infrastructure-related issues (network, server, wireless, storage, and telephony).
10. Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams during infrastructure and storage upgrades, migrations, and project rollouts.
11. Document infrastructure and storage configurations, changes, and troubleshooting processes to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
12. Contribute to capacity planning, scalability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore strategies for critical business systems.
13. Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives to align IT operations with business growth.
Required Qualifications and Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
2. At least one (1) year of practical experience in a customer-facing IT support role.
3. Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and/or macOS environments.
4. Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), email systems, and common desktop applications.
5. Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience with ticketing systems is desirable.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on user satisfaction.
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
9. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a agile environment.
10. Must have Australian drivers licence.
