ABOUT YOU: You must: be studying a relevant degree qualification or a recent graduate. have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. have the necessary technical and soft skills to perform the job. be committed to a career in your field of study. be able to work at least 3 days per week. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, bank reconciliations, and journal entries Process accounts payable and receivable, and follow up on outstanding invoices Maintain general ledger and prepare trial balances Reconcile bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts regularly Assist in the preparation of BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, and other statutory requirements Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and documentation Support month-end and year-end closing processes Liaise with external accountants, tax agents, and auditors as required Ensure compliance with ATO and accounting standards Use accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar systems. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (1–3 years preferred) Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Good communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance regulations (preferred) LOCATION The host company is located in Melbourne.
