Job Title: Senior Vehicle Technical Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Technical Specialist to join our Motorsport Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced engineering capabilities across all series operated by our organization. Your primary focus will be on assisting the Category Technical Director and maintaining technical integrity through technical support, development, and scrutineering.
This role involves working across south-east Queensland, Australia, and internationally, both in office and track-based environments. You will be required to collaborate with various stakeholders, including technical partners and production facilities, to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong CAD and design proficiency, as well as experience with vehicle systems, including MoTeC Data Logging and Management. A Mechanical Engineering degree or similar qualification is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to travel.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
About the Role
This position involves a range of responsibilities, including:
* Assisting the Category Technical Director in leading the Design & CAD side of the Technical department
* Designing, producing, and maintaining car-related parts or technical equipment
* Working with Supercars and Homologation Teams during new vehicle homologation
* Maintaining confidentiality and responding to team enquiries
* Traveling for scrutineering and testing
You will also be involved in technical management of support categories and assist with the preparation and running of cars during test days.
Skills and Experience Required
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Strong CAD and design proficiency, including PDM/PLM experience
* Experience with vehicle systems, including MoTeC Data Logging and Management
* Trackside engineering experience, preferably in top-level international motorsport series
* Proficiency in MS Office
You should also be able to demonstrate:
* Adaptability and a willingness to engage positively with internal and external personnel
* Able to present and communicate information clearly
* Ability to work successfully independently and in a team environment
* Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
