Unity Power Engineers is a dedicated Electrical Engineering design and consulting firm based in Hamilton NSW providing a range of engineering technical services to the heavy industrial, utilities, mining, and renewables sectors across Australia.
Unity is looking for an experienced ASP Level 3 Designer to join our expanding team and be a part of a small business offering high-quality Electrical Engineering solutions.
The Role
· Full time Monday – Friday (40hrs/week)
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare Level 3 electrical designs for underground and overhead networks.
· Liaise with clients, councils, and network authorities to ensure compliance and approvals.
· Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data for design development.
· Produce design documentation including CAD drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
· Excellent knowledge of utilities including Ausgrid, Essential Energy and Endeavour Energy
· Ensure designs meet the requirements of the ASP Scheme and relevant standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, Service and Installation Rules).
· Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet client and regulatory deadlines.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
· Provide technical support and advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
· ASP Level 3 Accreditation with relevant electricity distributor.
· Degree in Electrical Engineering
· Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design within the ASP framework.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
· Strong understanding of local distribution network standards and regulations.
· Excellent communication and management skills.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Desirable Skills
· Experience with GIS systems and digital design platforms.
· Knowledge of NER (National Electricity Rules) and contestable works processes.
· Familiarity with environmental and safety standards in infrastructure design.
