On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will join with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The merger will provide new training, education and career opportunities.
Subject to final approval, on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
Full Time/Fixed Term - 80 Hours + ADO Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse Great Staff benefits Alfred Health Location Department Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is the Area Mental Health Service responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness in the Inner South-eastern area of Melbourne.
Services are provided by teams located at the Alfred Hospital, St Kilda Road Clinic, Waiora Clinic, Alma Road CCU, the Child & Adolescent Service in Moorabbin and Aged Psychiatry at Caulfield Hospital.
Position The role of the Mental Health Clinician is based at St Kilda Road and sits within the Community Mental Health Service (CMHT).
This is a multidisciplinary team comprising approximately 20 clinical EFTs made up of Consultant Psychiatrists, Registrars, Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists.
Qualifications and Experience A current Registration with AHPRA/AASW, preferably with Psychiatric endorsements or equivalent.
For Nursing applicants, postgraduate qualifications in psychiatric nursing are strongly preferred.
Experience in a range of psychiatric interventions indicating an ability to perform community-based psychiatric assessment including risk assessment.
A current driver's licence is required to undertake this role.
