Our Business Banking Technology has a bold vision: to become Australia's leading digital business bank.
We're rebuilding the Small Business Banking experience in NetBank from the ground up — delivering a differentiated, personalised interface for our customers. We work closely with our business partners to solve meaningful customer problems through strong engineering practices and thoughtful design.
As a Chapter Lead, you'll initially lead a single squad delivering this new experience, with scope to expand across multiple squads as the platform grows.

This is a hands‐on technical leadership role.

* Lead and grow a high-performing engineering squad
* Set the engineering standard — we expect you to be as technically capable as our senior engineers
* Contribute directly to architecture, design and coding
* Guide complex technical decisions and design exercises
* Drive delivery of scalable, secure and customer‐centric solutions
* Foster a culture of humility, openness and high performance
* Invest in capability uplift, talent retention and career development
* Balance people leadership with technical excellence
We use a broad range of technologies. You don't need experience in all of them — but strong engineering fundamentals are essential.
Technology & Environment
* Modern web frameworks (e.g. Next.js preferred but not mandatory)
* RESTful API design (microservices architecture)
* GraphQL (beneficial but not required)
* Cloud-native architectures
