One of Australia's leading multidisciplinary building compliance consultancies is seeking a motivated Building Surveyor / Building Code Consultant to join its Brisbane team.
Established in 1990, the business advises across building code, accessibility, and essential safety, with a national team of Accredited Building Surveyors/Certifiers, Access Consultants, Airport Building Controllers, and ESM specialists. The Brisbane office collaborates closely with colleagues nationwide on complex, compliance-driven projects across government, Defence, health, transport, and major commercial developments.
The Role
This role is ideal for an experienced commercial Building Code Cadet or a Level 2 Building Certifier looking to expand their exposure across Class 2–9 buildings and progress toward Level 1 certification. Based in Brisbane, you'll work alongside senior Building Surveyors and a national network of specialists, gaining hands‐on experience across the full project lifecycle—from early design advice through to construction, inspection, and certification. The work is technically engaging and often compliance-sensitive, offering strong opportunities to build your judgement, confidence, and autonomy. Key Responsibilities
* Assist with and deliver building code and compliance advice across a range of projects
* Review documentation for NCC compliance (Volumes 1 & 2)
* Support project delivery from design through to certification
* Conduct site inspections and contribute to certification processes
* Work closely with senior surveyors and multidisciplinary teams
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
About You
* 2+ years' experience in commercial building surveying or building compliance
* Current QBCC Level 2 registration, or eligibility and intent to obtain
* Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying (or near completion)
* Strong working knowledge of the NCC (Volumes 1 & 2) and Australian Standards
* Familiarity with QLD legislation (Building Act 1975, Building Regulation 2021, Planning Act 2016) is highly regarded
* Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
