About The Role
The City of Ballarat currently has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time position within the Operations team. The Coordinator Civil Operations will lead a multi-disciplined works unit, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources whilst maintaining a safe workplace. The position provides direction to all services operated by the Civil Operations unit in the delivery of civil maintenance services including;
* Road maintenance (sealed and unsealed)
* Drainage maintenance (cleaning and repairs)
* Signage
* Bridge maintenance
* Line marking
The Coordinator Civil Operations will develop, implement and maintain works schedules to ensure compliance with the Council's Road Management Plan and documented service levels, as well as overseeing a team of approximately 42 employees, with 3 direct reports.

The Successful Applicant Will Hold
* Tertiary qualification in Management, Engineering or related field and/or lesser formal qualifications with extensive and diverse experience in a related discipline
* Extensive management experience within road maintenance discipline, including road, drainage and pathway maintenance experience.
* Sound experience in Municipal construction and maintenance works.
* Demonstrated experience in contract(s) supervision and project management.
* Understanding of Road Management Act and its application.
* Demonstrated experience in the delivery of successful maintenance and construction activities including the management of significant resources
* Financial management skills including budget development and control
* Demonstrated ability to deliver quality customer service outcomes.
* Highly developed communication skills, gain the co-operation of customers, contractors, and employees.
* Ability to motivate and foster staff development providing succession and business continuity.
* Ability to implement and monitor adherence to health and safety policies and procedures within a team environment.
