We are seeking a technically proficient Architectural Technician to bridge creative design and buildability within our themed environments.
You'll turn design concepts into precise, constructible documentation and work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure our immersive projects are delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
CAD & Revit Documentation: Produce detailed architectural and theming drawings, construction documentation, and technical packages in Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring creative concepts are translated into buildable outputs.
Interpretation of Theming Concepts: Work closely with designers to interpret creative theming sketches, models, and concept art, developing accurate technical documentation that maintains design intent while ensuring constructability.
Design Coordination & Technical Feasibility: Collaborate with creative designers, architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical challenges while preserving the integrity of themed environments and design intent.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Adapt creative theming concepts into drawings that meet building codes, safety standards, and accessibility requirements, without compromising design vision.
Site Engagement: Attend site visits to validate theming installations against design intent, assist with surveys, and help resolve on-site issues in collaboration with construction teams.
Technical Drawings & Specifications: Prepare detailed fabrication and installation drawings, materials schedules, and specifications tailored to themed finishes and complex geometries.
Project Documentation & Coordination: Manage and maintain accurate documentation in line with creative changes, supporting tender submissions, workshop packages, and approvals.
Research & Innovation: Investigate new materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques suited to themed entertainment projects, applying them to enhance realism and durability.
Themed environments require creative interpretations of standard building practices and must be documented accordingly.
Time & Workflow Management: Deliver accurate technical outputs under tight deadlines, coordinating across creative and construction teams to keep theming projects on track.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting, or similar.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM-based workflows.
Thorough understanding of construction techniques, detailing, materials, and drawing standards.
Ability to interpret building codes, contribute to compliance, and ensure documentation integrity.
Advanced expertise in building code interpretation and compliance is essential for this position.
Solid attention to detail, strong technical drawing skills, and excellent time management.
Effective communication and teamwork—comfortable liaising with different project stakeholders.
Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Architectural Technician is required.
Candidates must have existing Australian work authorisation at the time of application.
Familiarity with Rhino or other 3D modeling tools for complex geometries.
Experience in Procore or project documentation platforms.
Concept design visualization and presentation capabilities.
Background in themed entertainment, attractions, or bespoke fabrication environments.
