Financial Analyst - SES role at Santos Ltd. Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and reporting deliverables, including reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and providing financial analysis for the Midstream & Energy Solutions business. The ability to coordinate the delivery of key business processes will be a key requirement of the role. We are looking for a candidate with strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is seeking to be challenged and grow with the business.
* Management Reporting & Financial Analysis: Support preparation of month-end reports on key metrics and delivery to key stakeholders, monitoring of people costs, and conduct in-depth financial analysis including financial modelling, variance analysis, and trend forecasting to support decision-making.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Support preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation within financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
* Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for action.
* Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and accounting standards, maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to achieve shared financial objectives.
* Provide support to Finance projects as required.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial analysis or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or a similar sector. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of SAP Finance systems, proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools, and advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel. This role suits an agile and adaptable professional who thrives in a varied environment and is passionate about developing new processes and shaping the 'future state'.
You will also hold a bachelor's level qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent field, along with a recognised professional certification such as ICAA, CPA, or equivalent.
