GP with Specific Interest (GPSI) – ADHD Assessment Clinic
Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking a GP with Specific Interest (GPSI) to establish an evidence‐based multidisciplinary ADHD assessment service for children and adolescents across Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct ADHD intake assessments and participate in shared care arrangements.
* Provide ongoing management and monitoring of children and adolescents.
* Collaborate with paediatricians, child psychiatrist and allied health in a multidisciplinary setting.
* Assist with transition planning to primary care for long‐term management.
* Provide mentorship and case consultation to GPs involved in shared care.
* Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and pathways.
* Report to the Clinical Director and act within clinical privileges as defined.
Qualifications and Experience
* Current registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner.
* Recognised GP qualification (FRACGP or equivalent).
* Interest and experience in managing ADHD and child mental health.
* Willingness to undertake further training in ADHD assessment and treatment.
* Previous involvement in chronic disease or mental health collaborative care.
* Specialist registration or an International Medical Graduate on the specialist pathway.

Appointment Details
0.4 FTE Fixed‐term Part‐time day work (30.4 hours per fortnight) commencing as soon as possible until 10 November 2028. Allocation of this FTE is negotiable and the panel may consider 0.2 FTE for two candidates if more suitable.
