Job Description
Hitachi Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Transformer Service Team as Business Development Manager in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Perth offices. This role is critical in enhancing our market share and promoting our comprehensive portfolio of Transformer Service to Transmission and Distribution Utilities, Industries, EPCs, and end customers, including Wind and Solar Farm Operators.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Service Sales Manager, Front-End Sales Team, and INL (Industry & Network Leaders) on promoting Transformer Service & Digital portfolio.
* Call on existing and prospective customers to identify opportunities, solicit orders, and analyze customers' needs to recommend solutions that best meet the customers' requirements.
* Develop the sales pipeline, remain knowledgeable of organizational products/services to facilitate sales efforts and compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on industry information sources.
* Promptly follow up marketing leads and other customer-based actions, work with global technical resources to produce the most compelling, concise proposal response, competitive prices, credit terms and support preparation of sales offers.
* Be responsible for pre‐bid queries and customer clarification to ensure a positive customer experience throughout the whole sales process.
* Analyze customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization, perform win/loss proposal analysis, identify potential causes, and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales / Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.
* Participate in negotiations with customers on technical, contractual, and commercial content of the proposal and provide information to the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, and participate in the risk review assessment as needed.
* Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications
* Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; an MBA degree is desirable.
* Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Australia.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in the Energy Industry in the areas of electrification projects, transmission & distribution, or utility / transmission developer experience.
* A proven track record (or demonstrated ability) of client engagement in the electrical industry, specifically transformers.
* Previous hands‐on work experience or knowledge of transformer service, maintenance, installation/commissioning, repairs, on‐load tap changer maintenance / overhauling and spare parts.
* Being familiar with Transformer digital solutions, especially exposure to Hitachi Energy or other OEMs portfolio, is highly desirable.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, with strategic business acumen and resilience in sales pursuits.
