Field Research Officer
Overview
This role involves conducting face-to-face interviews with Australians to gather data and insights that inform business, government and community decisions.
Responsibilities
* Visit assigned households and initiate conversations at the door.
* Build rapport quickly, manage refusals and objections respectfully, and ensure informed consent.
* Conduct accurate, structured interviews on a wide range of topics.
* Record observations, follow safety and privacy protocols, and maintain strict confidentiality.
* Plan your weekly schedule to meet agreed hours, including at least one weekend day.

* Relationship-building: The ability to bounce back from refusal and maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
* Communication skills: Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different household situations.
* Organisation: Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Technical comfort: Proficiency with tablets and online systems, with the ability to follow scripts and protocols.

Additional Requirements:
* Availability of 20+ hours per week (including one weekend day; flexibility to add hours at peak times)
* Current driver's licence and a reliable, registered vehicle
* Fluent English (spoken and written) and the legal right to work in Australia
* Willingness to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check (paid by employer)
