Swick Mining Services is Australia's largest Underground Diamond Drilling Contractor with the most innovative and reliable rigs in the industry.
With continued company growth comes an opportunity for a suitably experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join our Engineering team at South Guildford, where you will be responsible for developing/designing and optimising machine and process control systems, along with testing and implementing the finished product.
The Role
As the Mechatronics Engineer, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
* Manage Engineering and R&D projects from concept to completion.
* Provide technical advice on how to improve Swick's equipment.
* Perform programming and development of automation projects.
* Develop and manage hydraulic and electrical schematics.
* Develop and maintain project milestones, parts lists and ordering, and electrical/instrumentation schematics, to meet relevant industry standards.
* Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Maintain cost and schedule tracking of projects against quoted price and delivery.
* Lead and oversee support of systems from product inception to product turnoff.
* Training of employees to support product implementation.
* Attend and being a key member of the Continuous Improvement and R&D committee meetings
The Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will be required to meet the following criteria:
* Minimum 7 years previous industry experience in a similar role
* Australian recognised Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering qualification
* PLC, HMI Programming/Design
* Code Development/Programming
* Strong experience in reading and analyzing hydraulic and electrical schematics
* Development of Testing Protocol/methods
* System troubleshooting and problem solving
* Working knowledge of industry standards (AS, NEC, CE, UL, etc.)
* Previous experience drafting reports and collating data
* CAD development software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)
* Exposure to heavy machinery
* Exposure to change management system
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills
* Must be a team player with the ability to communicate at all levels
