We’re seeking an experienced Vet Nurse Manager to join our Hobart team on a full-time, 9-month maternity cover and provide strong leadership while continuing hands-on clinical nursing.
This position offers approximately 30 hours per week of dedicated administration and leadership time, with the option to pick up additional clinical nursing shifts. You will:
* Lead, mentor, and support the nursing team day-to-day
* Oversee rostering, workflow, and staffing coordination
* Maintain high clinical and operational standards
* Support team engagement, wellbeing, and professional development
* Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management
* Contribute to policy implementation, WHS compliance, and a positive team culture
About you
* Experienced veterinary nurse with strong leadership and organisational skills
* Confident balancing management responsibilities with hands-on clinical work
* A supportive, approachable leader who values teamwork and high-quality care
* Strong communicator with the ability to manage conflict and drive positive outcomes
* Passionate about team development, patient care, and continuous improvement
* Flexible to work a rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays
