The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Officer – Cost Recovery. We are seeking a dynamic professional to assist the Cost Recovery Manager in overseeing and enhancing the cost recovery processes within the Environment Online system. In this role, you will develop and maintain key administrative procedures including fee validation, invoicing, revenue receipting, and refund management, ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations. Your expertise will guide high-level financial advice on environmental assessment fees, while your analytical skills will drive financial reconciliations and reporting that support strategic planning.
You will collaborate closely with system teams to integrate cost recovery workflows into departmental financial platforms like TechnologyOne, spearhead system testing, and deliver innovative solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy. Beyond processes, you will contribute to creating clear, user-friendly documentation and play a vital role in change management initiatives that educate stakeholders and enhance the cost recovery framework. Engaging in strategic projects within the EPA Services Directorate, your work will directly impact business operations and environmental outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial administration with hands-on experience in reconciliation, invoicing, and compliance. You are a proven project manager, skilled in navigating complex challenges with a structured, resourceful approach. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities empower you to clearly present complex information and build effective partnerships across teams.
