Details: The Careers and Transitions Team in the Education Programs and Services branch has responsibility for day-to-day operations that support Career Education and Transitions. This includes development and implementation of quality programs, systems and support mechanisms to assist schools, students and other stakeholders.
The Director, Careers and Transitions is responsible for overseeing Career Education and Transitions support in ACT public schools, including managing the Understanding Building and Construction Program – Try-a Trade, the development and maintenance of career education curriculum and recourses, facilitating stakeholder groups including the Transition and Careers Officers Network and supporting events like the Careers Xpo.
This position requires a strong leader that takes ownership of issues and has the ability to implement and manage policies and programs in line with industry best practice. This will include working collaboratively across business units, directorates, local service providers and industry stakeholders.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
* Possession of a current driver’s licence and access to a private vehicle.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
Desirable
* Career Education qualifications and/or experience.
* Strong understanding of the ACT Public Education system.
