About the Opportunity

As a Senior Aboriginal Social Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering culturally safe, evidence‐informed social work services across the Central Coast region on Darkinung country. Your work will directly support Aboriginal clients, families, and carers, while contributing to the growth and cultural capability of the broader service.

In this role you will:

* Provide culturally safe, evidence‐informed social work services to Aboriginal clients in both community and clinic settings.
* Work within the Aboriginal Complex Care Team (ACCT) alongside Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers to deliver coordinated, culturally responsive care.
* Act as a key contact for culturally appropriate social work delivery across the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), offering guidance and leadership in best practice approaches.
* Supervise, mentor, and support student and junior social workers to build strong clinical skills and cultural competence.
* Manage complex caseloads independently, providing assessment, intervention, advocacy, and ongoing support for clients and families.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies, and community organisations to ensure integrated and holistic care pathways.
* Contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development within the Aboriginal Health team.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:
• Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Demonstrated experience providing culturally informed social work practice within health or community settings.
• Strong skills in supervision, mentoring, and leadership of staff and students.
• Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills across diverse stakeholders.
• Current driver's licence, ability to travel across the District, and compliance with National Criminal Record and Working with Children Checks.
