Reports to: Centre Board of Management
Position Description
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day business functions of the organisation, including but not limited to the centre’s strategic plan and direction, compliance through intentional programming and partnership development. Maintaining funding streams to deliver services and programs.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Uphold the values and the mission of The People Place
2. Develop, review and follow policies and procedures of The People Place
3. Participate in Annual Performance reviews
4. Undertake continuous personal and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
5. Develop and work with the Strategic outcomes, the business plan, including marketing
6. Communicate effectively and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Service Delivery
1. Provides leadership and manages The People Place to ensure effective and efficient customer and community services are provided in a cohesive and collaborative manner
2. Responsible for the development implementation and management of governance processes
3. Actively participates in managing risk, resolving WHS issues and promoting a safe place to work
4. Responsible for the marketing of services provided by The People Place
5. Attends Board of management meetings as required, providing timely information and is actively involved in discussions
Program Development
1. Prepares and/or manages the preparation and presentation of proposals, funding, submissions and grant applications and develops and implements fundraising and sponsorship plans
2. Manages and/or undertakes the development and implementation of projects or programs
3. Develops, builds and maintains positive and collaborative communications and working relationships and partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders such as the City of Busselton, government agencies, community groups, not for profit organisations, the media business and the general public.
Program Implementation
1. Monitors the operating environment for opportunities and initiates new service responses, reviews and evaluates existing programs
Administration and Reporting
1. Manages and oversees the development and implementation of TPP’s strategic and business plans together with related policies, procedures to ensure the organisation operates at its optimum
Staff Supervision
1. Manages and oversees all Human Resource management activities including staff training, performance management and development reviews, all leave requirements, rosters, workplace health and safety, grievances and workers compensation matters
2. Provides high level advice and information to the Board of Management with respect to the organisations budget, monthly and end of year financial reporting requirements together with a range of other reports
3. Undertakes other duties as requested.
Selection Criteria
1. Leadership experience working within a community development or neighbourhood centre environment
2. Experience in a budgetary and financial environment, including the ability to prepare funding and sponsorship applications
3. Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
4. Ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders in a variety of contexts
5. Well-developed conceptual, analytical and research skills including the ability to provide solutions to complex problems
6. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to agreed time frames
7. Ability to work independently and without supervision
8. Demonstrated social media competency
Documentation Required
1. A valid Working with Children Check
2. A National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
