About the Role

As a Community Communications Officer, you will play a key role in helping Bayside residents understand the projects, plans and improvements shaping their neighbourhoods. Working within the Community Engagement team, you will develop clear, accessible communications about Council's construction projects to increase awareness, build trust and strengthen community connections. This part‐time role collaborates closely with internal teams and external suppliers to support the effective delivery of information across multiple channels.

You will be responsible for:

* Developing communication plans for Council construction and infrastructure projects.
* Writing and coordinating digital and print content, including web updates, social media, signage and letters.
* Collaborating with project teams and suppliers to deliver high‐quality communication materials.
* Maintaining templates and resources within the internal Community Engagement Hub.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging content across multiple channels.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to work collaboratively and build constructive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers.
* Relevant qualifications or experience in communications, marketing or public relations, with demonstrated capability in producing communication and engagement materials.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements

* Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
* Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
