Role
To support this work, we are seeking an experienced and proactive AML / CTF Compliance leader to join the Group Risk function for a 12-month fixed term contract period. This is a critical role where you will drive further strengthening of People First Bank's AML / CTF compliance capability by providing expert advisory services, facilitating the uplift of AML / CTF frameworks, and ensuring our organisation remains compliant with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. This role will assist People First Bank to prepare for the imminent AML / CTF Reforms and provide SME AML / CTF advice to support other projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide expert AML / CTF advisory services and further embed compliance into business operations.
Contribute to the uplift and maintenance of AML / CTF frameworks, policies, procedures, methodologies, and training.
Monitor and interpret AML / CTF and Sanctions regulatory changes and assess organisational impacts.
Support enterprise projects to ensure AML / CTF and Sanctions requirements are understood and applied.
Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to identify, manage, and remediate AML / CTF risks and incidents.
Review AML / CTF issues and incidents, driving timely remediation and strengthening controls.
About You / Qualifications
You are confident and influential and demonstrate strong judgment, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You excel in quickly building relationships across the organisation, and bring a calm, purposeful approach to managing risk.
Extensive AML / CTF expertise in financial services.
Proven success implementing AML / CTF programs and frameworks.
Strong working knowledge of AUSTRAC requirements, AML / CTF and Sanctions regulations, and the Australian regulatory environment.
Demonstrated experience in regulatory engagement, including managing audits, examinations, and interactions with regulators.
Advanced analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
High proficiency in producing clear, high-quality documentation and reports.
