Job Summary
As a Senior Child Safety Support Officer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high‐quality, culturally appropriate child protection services to children, families and carers serviced by the Child Safety Service Centre. The role focuses on identifying and supporting potential kin to become approved carers and supporting connection for young people in out of home care.

Responsibilities
* Effectively and positively engage with children, families, carers and service providers (including government and non‐government agencies) to support children and parents to meet identified case plan goals.
* Provide individualized, high‐quality, and culturally appropriate supports to children and families subject to tertiary child protection intervention, including facilitation of positive family connection, referrals and advocacy for services, parent coaching and support of transition from care plans.
* Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, children and parents to strengthen effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community.
* Provide high‐quality, comprehensive casework support and advice to inform decisions about safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present.
* Participate as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well‐planned family support services to vulnerable children and families.
* Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and professional development to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence‐based.
* Prepare and maintain quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
* Hold a Blue Card administered by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency.
* Hold a Queensland Driver's Licence.
* Be willing to undertake intra‐state travel as required by the role.
