**Description**:
**The Role Home & Garden Maintenance Officer**
Providing high quality home garden and maintenance tasks and issues in a safe, efficient, respectful and timely manner Ensuring the appropriate use and care of all maintenance equipment and machinery. This includes reporting any damage or defects to equipment and facilities to the manager. Resolving day to day home garden and maintenance issues and performing minor maintenance repairs and alterations to equipment, fixtures and fittings that are non-trade functions.
All tasks are undertaken to ensure that the client's home and grounds provide a safe environment for the client.
- Mow lawns, trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls
- Prune and trim bushes, hedges and trees overhanging windows, doorways, and paths, and/or are posing a danger
- Pressure cleaning of paths and walkways to minimise the risk of the client slipping and falling.
- Perform routine in home maintenance duties such as:
- Fitting of hand rails
- Changing light bulbs
- Cleaning of gutters
- Repair of latches and locks etc.
- External window cleaning
- Sweep walkways of debris.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds that pose a risk to the client.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment used in the provision of this service.
- Rake up and remove garden debris and general yard rubbish.

**Qualifications**:
Certificates in the following will be an advantage but are not essential:
- Certificate in Brush cutter operations
- Certificate in Chainsaw operations
- Certificate in Treating & Controlling weeds
- Certificate in Working Safely at Heights
- Any relevant trade or horticulture qualification
