Are you a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse ? The Hellenic Community Aged Care, a facility dedicated to ongoing improvement and high-quality services, is looking for a skilled professional to provide clinical leadership and guidance around infection prevention and control.
Reporting To
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Coordinator Hellenic Admin, and Site Manager.
Location
Hellenic Community Aged Care.
Key Responsibilities include
* Development and implementation of IPC policy/procedures and monitor, assess and report on IPC practices.
* Lead for outbreak management and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managers, care team and public health authorities to enhance IPC practices and meet organisational objectives.
* Conduct regular infection surveillance activities, including data collection and trend analysis of infections.
* Delivering IPC education to clinical and non-clinical staff.
* Customising and developing IPC training to address identified staff skills gaps.
* Promoting hand hygiene compliance and antimicrobial stewardship.
* Participate in the orientation and induction of new staff.
* Coordinate and monitor staff immunisation programs.
* Manage and investigate incidents involving exposure to blood or body substances and ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting.
* Evaluate and provide recommendations on infection-related equipment and products used in the facility to ensure compliance with IPC standards.
* Conduct infection control audits, quality improvement projects, and contribute to risk management activities to ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant state and national health guidelines.
Qualifications
* Completion of an IPC foundations course (e.g., ACIPC course) or post-graduate qualifications in IPC.
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse .
* Previous experience in aged care or healthcare .
