Job Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a skilled General Psychiatrist to provide part-time services at the Complex Care Housing (CCH) Team. The team's primary goal is to deliver psychiatric and medical stabilization services to adults experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including addiction medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, case managers, and nurses, to provide psychiatric services within a community-based outreach team. The physician will be responsible for assessing patients with a full range of psychiatric disorders and comorbidities, including severe substance use disorders.
Services will be provided on-site in Island Health facilities, as well as virtually, to cater to diverse patient needs. Participation in the South Island General Psychiatry call rotation is a mandatory requirement for this position.
In addition to providing high-quality patient care, the successful candidate will have opportunities to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs through the Island Medical Program.
Key Responsibilities:

* Participate in call rotations and contribute to the development of treatment plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* FRCPC Eligibility (mandatory)
* Advanced training in Addictions Psychiatry (desired)
* Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
