We have been asked to assist with recruiting a Principal Technical Consultant.
The Principal Consultant is accountable for the strategic direction of their customer's IT environment – Acting as a trusted advisor to provide Executive Stakeholder Management and Strategic counsel, to ensure investment in IT remains aligned to core business objectives.
This role is a blend of customer success / Account management & technical consulting (Advisory, guidance)
Position-specific tasks or responsibilities:
* Relationship Management: Building strong, meaningful relationships with key stakeholders - become your customers' trusted advisor and their advocate within our business
* Customer Success: Facilitating outcomes to customer technology-based needs or challenges, project or service delivery issues, billing queries, and more, by leveraging appropriate resources within the business.
* Technical ownership: Demonstrating a strong understanding of your client's technical infrastructure, tracking hardware, maintenance and licensing lifecycles, to be able to recommend improvements and direct technical staff as needed to address risk and problem.
* Have a strong understanding of the technical environment that makes up your client base, and seek to improve not only the technical foundations, but also work to resolve the risks and problems associated with infrastructure and Cyber Security through projects and transformation.
* Understand your clients goals and plans for the future
* Board / C level reporting
* Oversee projects
* Provide complex technical advice on requirements for quotes
* Understand your clients technology environments (cloud, on-prem, cyber security, hardware lifecycles.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 + years in a senior technical role, with experience in consulting from both a Technical Advisory / Account management perspective, this is not a hands on role that requires you to be an architect, but you will need to be technically savvy to liaise with the technical resources within the business & interface with the client to link business needs to the technical capacity of the businesses project team and service offering
* Similar role experience that would be considered: virtual CTO, technical consultant, Senior system engineer, level 3 technical roles, technical lead, technical manager & presales
* Strong background in technical consulting for clients that have a Microsoft, windows, cloud environment
* Experience within MSP's or IT consultancies is highly desirable
* In-depth working knowledge of various technologies and platforms, including operating systems, virtualization, cloud computing, networking, storage, and security.
* Experience in identifying and assisting with the design of solutions that meet the needs of clients
* Have experience in the understanding of core business technology concepts/best practice methodologies and possess the ability to clearly articulate them in a C-Level setting.
* Ability to drive small projects and non-standard service requests
* Skilled in driving and assisting in the creation of strategic account/technology plans that align customer operational objectives with key technology initiatives.
* Skilled in building and maintaining key customer relationships over time
* You must be an Australian Citizen or have the ability to get a security clearance, the clearance can be sponsored & paid for by the business on your behalf
