Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The day-to-day tasks typically involve:
* Assembly & Installation: Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to assemble new machinery from components. This includes aligning, fitting, and bolting parts together with precision.
* Maintenance: Performing scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.
* Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing faults in malfunctioning equipment, dismantling it, replacing worn or defective parts (e.g., bearings, seals, gears, shafts), and reassembling it.
* Metalworking & Fabrication: Using machine tools like lathes, milling machines, and grinders to modify or fabricate components to the required specifications.
* Precision Measurement: Using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools) to ensure parts are within specified tolerances.
* Testing & Commissioning: Testing repaired or newly assembled machinery under power to ensure it operates correctly, safely, and meets performance standards.
* Adherence to Standards: Following strict safety protocols, quality procedures, and industry regulations (like ISO standards) at all times.
