Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector.About The RoleThis position’s purpose is to define and lead the strategy across the Developer Experience (DevX) and to manage the team of high performing permanent and contract professionals in the Development practice. This practice is managed as part of the Agility, Speed and Developer Experience team under Digital Capabilities & Commercial.AEMO is undergoing significant transformation and growth driven by the disruption being experienced in the energy industry in Australia and globally. The way we deliver work needs to adapt and be flexible to meet the constant changing needs and requirements of consumers and energy policy.This role and the Development practice have been established as a centralised function of dedicated experts, responsible for defining standards and practices to streamline and uplift delivery excellence across AEMO and improve the developer experience. The team provide an enterprise-wide standards-based approach to promote simplicity, automation and re-use in our delivery teams that aligned to AEMO’s strategic goals and vision.What You Will Be DoingPlaying a key role in shaping and leading AEMO’s developer experience journey, you will work towards uplifting capability and be comfortable as a thought leader and in introducing new ideas and innovative solutionsManage the program of work to uplift the AEMO developer experience, people capability and delivery of agreed strategic goalsThis role will help shape and improve the experience of developers in AEMO whilst improving the speed, agility, cost, quality and security of our solutions. It will aim to cut development time and cost whilst improving security and quality by standardising and automating the way we work.It will be responsible to reduce overheads on the teams via reuse of common code and templates/frameworks and standardising on the tools we use.
