The InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef will immerse you in the wonders of the Whitsundays, working in a five-star luxury environment which offers career growth opportunities, professional training and development, and a unique experience living and working on a tropical island paradise.ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of Guest Services operations to ensure a unique and memorable guest experience that brings the brand to life.Lead, motivate, train, and develop the team to operate at peak efficiency while maintaining high service standards.Ensure all colleagues are trained in systems, security, cash handling, and quality procedures.Conduct and participate in daily operations meetings to prepare and support the team; maintain strong awareness of Workplace Health and Safety policies.Work closely with Security to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.In the absence of the Resort Manager, supervise the overall hotel operation, including restaurants, bars, and events.Monitor guest feedback from various channels and implement detailed action plans; liaise with the Front Office Manager to manage VIP guest schedules.Oversee the night audit and financial reporting functions; drive financial performance through upselling initiatives.Ensure safe and accurate cashiering procedures and manage labour costs in alignment with budgets and business demands.QualificationsCompleted tertiary studies in Hotel Management or a Business Degree.Minimum 3 years' related management experience in a 5-star, luxury hotel.Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.Strong communication skills; ability to respond to guest concerns and compliments effectively.Fluency in the local language; additional language skills preferred.Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.Literate and tech-savvy; knowledge of PMS, specifically Opera, essential.Current clean driver's license.Ability to travel on boats without seasickness.QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification.About youWe are looking for enthusiastic, professional team players who deliver great service and exceed guest and colleague expectations.
