Overview
Perform a wide range of duties on network devices including install, debug, maintain, upgrade and general support. Architect and support WAN connectivity to remote sites. Research, evaluate and recommend network technologies to support business requirements. Evaluate, test and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the network equipment. Proficient in design and troubleshoot the below:
- BGP
- OSPF
- EIGRP
- Spanning Tree
- 802.1x
Develop, implement, test and maintain disaster recovery plans. Act as a technical escalation point to assist with resolving incidents and tasks as required. Ability to manage multi-tasking network projects. Produce high and low-level designs including implementation and test plans.
Work closely with other internal teams for project delivery. Ability to work with third parties and other teams to schedule and implement changes. Collaborate with team members in the production of network design. Collect and review system data for capacity planning purposes.
Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging network tools and technologies. Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures. Perform other duties as required by the Team Leader, Network Systems to meet requirements.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science / Information Technology or related Business discipline
- Relevant Industry Certification in network technologies or relevant on the job experience
- 3 to 5 years network design experience
- 5 to 7 years network support (routing, switching, wireless) experience in implementation and administration of large corporate networks
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice, guidance and technical leadership in relation to capacity planning, business continuity planning and disaster recovery planning
