Provide expert Plumbing, drainage and Hydraulic advice, services and consultancy to plumbing workers, external clients and authorities. Ensure legislation, industry codes of practice, Australian Standards, documented work methods, and Material Safety Data Sheets are updated, controlled, and communicated to key QBuild stakeholders. .
Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for Plumbing projects and promote QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums and identifying opportunities for new business services
About The Role
The primary purpose of the position is to effectively manage and coordinate project planning and delivery activities to maximise QBuild project profitability and ensure customer satisfaction. This position supervises various office staff, field staff and contractors, who perform a range of project planning, product delivery, contract supervision and client liaison activities.
Duties And Skills Involved
* Lead and supervise the delivery of plumbing construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient management of budgets, supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards and Legislation.
* Promote and ensure a healthy and safe work environment through own practices and:
o Conducting regular site inspections on all plumbing workers who perform plumbing construction, minor and responsive works to ensure that plumbing work complies with all relevant legislation, standards and codes and ensure all Plumbing Forms such as 7, 9, 15, 43, are submitted and all work is of a high standard of workmanship acceptable to the department. And in line with A.S.3500
* Monitoring and reviewing project standards using effective work order management techniques that monitor and report to stakeholders on the status and quality of service, project delivery and expenditure, and achieve compliance with industry best practice and agreed cost and time parameters.
* Managing regional resources to effectively deliver construction, maintenance and upgrade projects ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and practices.
* Providing a high level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild.
* Provide operational contract supervisory services in respect to construction and engineering contracts on major and complex projects.
* Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients through effective and regular communication, sound negotiation and the achievement of program outcomes which meet client expectations.
* Prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
* As required, perform the role of Superintendents Representative (SR) for plumbing projects delivered by the QBuild region.
* Undertake Workplace Health and Safety and plumbing safety and workmanship audits of fieldstaff and contractors to ensure compliance with applicable standards, legislation and QBuild's Safety Management System.
* Coordinate the supervision and completion of competencies for plumbing apprentices.
* Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff, maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Thorough working knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures.
Mandatory Requirements
* Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card.
* Current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
