About the role
Supports the Home Manager and peers in delivering high quality resident care within the home.
The Personal Care Worker role is part of an integrated team working within an established framework to attend to the personal needs of residents.
The role is instrumental to ensuring that we provide high quality care to our residents at all times.
Your main duties will include
* Support residents to live the life they choose, allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
* Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents through assessment and observation.
* Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse and as documented in the resident's plan of care.
* Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging their independence.
* Document and report by exception in the progress notes, including the evaluation of interventions (as part of the role).
* Plan and organise work.
* Tasks are delegated by the Home Manager / Registered Nurse and are broadly under their supervision.
* Know and follow the resident care plan.
About you
* A Certificate III in Aged Care, or a relevant qualification.
* A passion for working in Aged Care and a sound understanding of the sector.
* Previous experience in a similar role in Aged Care is preferable.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.
