Service Desk Technician Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Service Desk Technician to join our Information Services team.

This role provides the first point of contact for Information Services requests, assisting staff and students across multiple campuses. You will provide support face-to-face at the service desk, respond to inbound calls, and manage requests with professionalism and care.

The successful candidate will deliver Level 1 support, with the ability to escalate issues where required, and play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of technology across the organization. To succeed in this role, you must have strong technical skills, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to customer service.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide first-line technical support for staff and students, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of issues.
* Repair, configure and maintain devices including laptops, desktops, printers, and audio-visual equipment.
* Support deployment of approved software and maintain accurate asset records.
* Assist staff and students with the effective use and care of ICT systems.
* Contribute to documentation of standard procedures and record solutions to common issues. Adhere to safeguarding and information security responsibilities at all times.


Requirements

* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (employment category).
* A current National Police Check (less than 6 months old).
* Certificate IV in Information Technology (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* Experience with Apple MacOS and iOS, Microsoft Windows, and Office 365 is highly regarded.
* Knowledge of Google Workspace, JAMF Pro, ITSM software, and ITIL service desk processes is an advantage.
