Overview
We are excited to be partnering with a leading ASX business with revenues in excess of $1billion which is a well-known name in the Australian market.
This key role in the organisational structure reports directly to the CFO and works closely with the wider Executive team and Board, leading the financial stewardship as the group enters an important phase of consolidation and growth.
Responsibilities
With a full and clear mandate, the Group Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring a robust finance operating model which will include the chance to reset cultural and capability standards to ensure the team is positioned to successfully deliver on the group's goals.
The transformation agenda at the heart of the organisational change will see you modernise systems and ways of working, including playing a lead role in the integration of recently acquired businesses.
Further responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Leading the periodic reporting including monthly, half year and full year reporting aligned to ASX requirements.
Overseeing statutory accounts, tax obligations, and the external audit process including audit relationship management.
Overseeing the group's cash flow management, including managing banking relationships and overseeing treasury.
Owning the financial controls, governance frameworks, and systems accuracy.
Oversight of the group's AP/AR, treasury, insurance, and operational finance.
Working closely with the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, and auditors to ensure compliance obligations are fulfilled.
Qualifications
This is a rare opportunity in market and will suit candidates experienced working in large-scale businesses which have operational, systems and reporting complexity.
You will be suitably qualified (CA / CPA) having ideally started your career in the Big 4 and have strong reporting experience in an ASX listed or complex multinational environment.
Specific sector experience is not required; however, it is likely you will have come from one of the larger and more complex sectors which could include banking & financial services, insurance, retail, or telecommunications.
Experience in a turnaround or transformation environment would be highly regarded, which should ideally include both systems change and business integration exposure (preferable).
Importantly, you will bring a strong leadership presence and the ability to work cohesively yet persuasively with your peer and stakeholder group, as well as leading your team in a direct and calm manner.
