If you're an AHPRA-registered pharmacist who doesn't like standing all day dispensing, then this job offers an exciting alternative involving a combination of standard pharmacy work (checking items prior to release), clinical pharmacy (answering queries from patients and prescribers), and supervision of technicians.
We are a compounding-only pharmacy in Ballina, a coastal town in the Ballina-Byron area of Northern NSW. We prepare sterile and non-sterile medicines personalised to specific patient needs. Sterile preparations include injections, eye drops, nasal sprays and intradermal pellets. Non-sterile preparations include mainly capsules, troches, oral liquids and topicals. Hours of business are 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 3pm Friday. We have a great team of 11 administrative and laboratory staff and seek an additional registered pharmacist with excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills and high standard of pharmacy practice to work at least 4 days per week.
You will respond to queries from prescribers (doctors, nurse practitioners, optometrists, vets, dentists) and patients, and check the correctness of compounded preparations against the order/prescription and release checked preparations for shipping to patients. Experience in pharmacy compounding is desirable, but not essential, since technicians compound the patient-specific preparations under pharmacist supervision. On-the-job training will be provided on processes for which you are responsible for in the pharmacy and on our compounded preparations. If you would like further information, please contact the proprietor, Dr Frank Sanfilippo at
