The Role: Clinical Excellence Lead


Job Description:

This is a senior nursing leadership position that involves advancing evidence-based care, supporting clinical governance, and ensuring high standards of patient safety across the hospital.


Key Responsibilities:

* Providing Expert Consultancy: Provide expert consultancy and clinical leadership aligned with Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) and NSW Health.
* Leading Education Programs: Lead education programs to upskill staff in acute deterioration and policy application.
* Quality Improvement and Accreditation: Oversee quality improvement, incident reviews, and accreditation readiness (Standard 8).
* Clinical Policy Development: Develop and update clinical policies, ensuring best-practice models of care.
* Research Translation and Performance Monitoring: Drive research translation and performance monitoring to enhance patient outcomes.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

* Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1): Current and valid registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Postgraduate Clinical Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of postgraduate clinical experience in acute care nursing.
* Leadership and Governance: Demonstrated leadership in clinical governance, policy development, and accreditation processes.
* Education and Training: Proven ability to lead education and training programs, identifying clinical learning needs and delivering competency-based education for nursing and allied health staff.
* Quality Improvement and Research: Extensive experience in quality improvement and research, with the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based practice initiatives.
* Data Management and Analysis: Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills, including the ability to interpret key performance indicators.
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.
