Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Building Services
Join HDR as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within our Building Engineering Services Team based in either Sydney or Melbourne. This role is part of the 2025/2026 Graduate Programme.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across teams to produce designs, reports and other engineering deliverables.
- Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or Project Manager.
- Develop your engineering and delivery skills through on‑the‑job training.
- Apply engineering techniques and procedures to project work.
- Demonstrate solid teamwork, ambition to learn, lead, develop and improve team members.
- Contribute to building a diverse organisation that embraces inclusion and respect for all.
- Give full commitment to HDR’s values and actively lead towards safety.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Undertaking or completed a relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Graduated before January 2026.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interest in building engineering services.
- Passion for learning and commitment to developing your skills.
- Previous undergraduate experience in a consulting environment – advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
