What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse/Midwife Consultant (CNMC) Lactation is responsible for providing expert consultancy, leadership and continuity of care in the establishment and ongoing support of the evidence based clinical practice of breastfeeding culture.
The CNMC will take responsibility of education and role-modelling of best infant feeding practice across the organisation by promoting a culture of support and health promotion.
In collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders, the CNMC will undertake primary responsibility for ongoing education, development and evaluation of clinical practice, including the development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of care management plans for women and their families with a focus on care coordination for those identified with complex infant feeding and lactation needs.
The CNMC is responsible for providing leadership in the attainment and maintenance of Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) accreditation.


About You
We’re looking for someone who:

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and a minimum of five years full time post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications from the International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).
* Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
* Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning and including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural changes processes.
