Occupational Therapist Job Description:
As an Experienced Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy services to individuals across the lifespan.
You will work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving their goals, enhancing independence, and improving quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical Service Delivery
o Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
o Develop and implement individualised therapy plans aligned with client goals.
o Deliver evidence-based interventions in homes, clinics, schools, or community settings.
o Provide functional capacity assessments, assistive technology prescription, and home modifications.
o Prepare clinical reports, funding applications (e.g., NDIS), and progress updates within required timelines.
o Monitor and review therapy outcomes and adjust plans as required.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement
o Build strong relationships with clients, families, carers, and support networks.
o Educate clients and support systems about therapy goals, strategies, and outcomes.
o Liaise with external stakeholders including support coordinators, NDIS planners, educators, GPs, and other allied health professionals.
* Supervision & Leadership
o Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff and students.
o Contribute to the induction and training of new team members.
o Support service development initiatives and quality improvement.
* Documentation & Compliance
o Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records.
o Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of ethics, and professional standards.
o Uphold privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of all clients.
Essential Criteria:
* Qualifications & Experience
o Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
o Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
o Minimum 1 years of post-graduate experience.
* Skills & Abilities
o Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage a clinical caseload.
o Strong knowledge of functional assessments, NDIS processes, and evidence-based interventions.
o Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
o Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
o Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable Criteria:

o Experience working within the NDIS framework.
o Skills in assistive technology prescription and home modifications.
o Training in sensory integration, positive behaviour support, or mental health.
o Previous experience in supervising junior staff or students.
