Stores Yard Assistant (Ref: 1226)
About the position:
The Stores/Yard Assistant provides support to the store's operations through assisting with administration, yard operations, receiving and dispatching of goods, procurement and liaising with operational staff.
This position works a 9 day fortnight with every second Friday as a non-working day.
Key accountabilities:
* Lead and supervise the Trees and Horticulture Maintenance teams to ensure all activities associated with Parks and Gardens are planned and completed effectively and safely, on a forward program basis, to the City's defined standards, within agreed timeframes.
* Actively mentor and train all team members in relevant City policies, procedures and systems to support in closing knowledge and skills gaps.
* Liaise with Managers, coordinators facilitators and other department employees and external agencies, businesses and the public as required to ensure that the City's parks and gardens are well maintained at all times.
* Coordinate materials, service supply, plant and equipment requirements and other resources required to undertake the services of Trees and Horticulture.
* Regular reporting on the Trees and Horticulture Maintenance team operations.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally hold a HR driver's license and have demonstrated experience in managing depot materials with ability to operate minor plant.
Applicants with limited knowledge, skills and experience in depot store operations or with a lesser driver's license class are welcome to apply.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $72,450 per annum or $36.66 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
