Support contemporary asset management within the Tasmanian traffic control system to enable safe and efficient operation.
Employment Details Tasmanian State Service Award - General Stream Band 5 Salary: $99,****** - $104,****** per annum Employment type: Permanent, flexible, full time Region: North Location: Launceston Period of Appointment Permanent, flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) Duties Apply specialised expertise to deliver electrical asset inspections and works, including installation, testing, and maintenance of traffic signal infrastructure, ITS assets, and related equipment.
Identify traffic signal equipment malfunctions, complex operational or technical problems, and traffic flow or congestion issues; ensure faults are rectified within KPI parameters.
Acquire knowledge of specialised management software (SCATS, STREAMS, CCTV, etc.) to monitor road network conditions and traffic signal assets.
Use and update the Traffic Signals Maintenance fault and defect management system (Reflect) to respond to and rectify reported signal and other asset issues.
Serve as subject matter expert, advising works coordinators, project managers, and other stakeholders for complex activities during design, planning, and delivery of programmed works.
Plan, document, and coordinate structured works for complex traffic signal projects, including managing various contractors.
Undertake specialised training to maintain current knowledge of signals and ITS assets.
Develop competency in: Expert knowledge of REFLECT, SCATS, STREAMS, Security Desk, and other control systems.
In depth knowledge of all TSM WHS systems: SWMS, work instructions, and Lucidity.
Comprehensive understanding of Specifications 730, 733, and associated drawings; ensure new assets comply with these specifications and Australian Standards.
Qualifications & Evidence Open Cabler Accreditation and Fibre Endorsement.
The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout employment.
