- Flexible working arrangements on offer
Here at Woolies, we have a team called Proactive Services. This dedicated team ensures that trolleys are available for our customers to use and that our stores are in pristine condition - this enables our Customers (and your colleagues!) to experience an environment that is hygienically clean to work and shop in. With the support of the Proactive Services Manager - Group Manager; you'll lead a group of Team Members (between 5- 11 depending on the store size and format) to deliver effective trolley collection and cleaning services to a set store. As teamwork is a key component of this role you'll work hands on side-by-side with your team to foster and embed this culture whilst bringing a little good to everyone, every day.
**What this role does
As a Team Lead you'll be responsible for the service delivery to your Store. You and your team will collect trolleys from specific locations along with ensuring that the set daily tasks associated with the store cleaning and waste services are completed as per schedule. You'll also develop your leadership and management skills by delivering all the people-related activities from recruiting, rostering, and coaching. Whilst this is a physically demanding role that requires you to work in and outside of your store, you'll be fully trained to operate all sorts of equipment and tools that make your job a little easier, and (most importantly) perform safely.
**Other things you'll do
- Act as a coach and mentor to your team and develop their skills across trolley collection, cleaning, and waste support for the store
- You'll set the team member's roster to ensure you have coverage of your daily tasks and operations list.
- Work in partnership with our Store Leadership team to understand any challenges, areas of opportunity, and upcoming priorities for the store
- Interact with our Customers which may include showing them to the relevant shopping aisle or assisting in the clean-up of an accidental spill in an aisle
- Your day to day will involve liaising between Support Office, Store Leadership Teams, team Members and Customers - so excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must
This full time salaried role is best suited to an individual with flexible availability to work across early mornings, days, and late nights Monday to Sunday.
- A positive eye for cleanliness and small details
- Experience managing a team, ideally in a retail or services environment, including such skills as creating and managing the roster within budget, recruitment, training, and operations management
- Confidence to engage and partner with other Department Managers, Store Leadership, Group and Zone Services Managers, to plan and coordinate routines & timeframes
- Organisational skills to ensure your team always has the equipment and consumables they need to work safely and efficiently
- You are comfortable in working in different elements (e.g. shop floor, fridges, freezers, carparks, etc)
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including at least one early start, one late start, and one-weekend shift (so you are across the full scope of work and your team during the week)
- Comfortable working with a regulated framework (Food Safety, industrial regulations, code of conducts etc)
- Some of our Woolworths Supermarkets stores will have some very cool collection vehicles to bring home trolleys so a valid Drivers License is helpful although not a pre-requisite.
