Protection Maintenance Field Technician (Trade Skilled) x *******kV-500kV Substation Projects - South Australia & New South Wales, Australia - $Excellent Daily Rate - 12 Month Contract + Potential Extensions - December or January Start Date - Monday to Friday (10 hour days)
Our client are expanding their field maintenance teams and require Protection/Secondary Systems Maintenance Trade-Skilled Workers/Technicians to support ongoing substation maintenance and transformer refurbishment works across South Australia and/or NSW.
Location:
South Australia and/or New South Wales (site-based)
Contract Duration:
12 months (potential for extensions)
Start Date:
December or January
Responsibilities
Carry out protection and secondary systems maintenance on live substations.
Perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of protection relays, control panels, and wiring systems.
Support transformer refurbishment and maintenance programs.
Conduct isolation, tagging, and safety processes for HV systems.
Work closely with engineers and HV testers on-site to complete maintenance scopes safely and efficiently.
Complete maintenance records, reports, and test sheets accurately.
Requirements
Electrical trade qualification or apprenticeship background (essential).
Competence in protection and control maintenance tasks.
Ability to work long and varied shifts (8–12 hours/day) and travel across regional sites.
Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
