About the RoleIn this pivotal position, you will spearhead the development of public policy frameworks, conduct thorough research and analysis, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
You will align policies with broader government objectives while fostering relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate public policies, particularly in a First Nations context.
Conduct research and analysis to inform evidence-based policy advice.
Identify emerging issues and propose innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Align policy initiatives with government priorities and departmental objectives.
Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
Prepare high-quality written materials, including reports and ministerial correspondence.
Manage projects or policy initiatives, ensuring timely delivery.
Understand and comply with government decision-making processes.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience in public policy development and evaluation.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record in project management.
Familiarity with governmental processes and APS values.
Qualifications
Relevant degree in public policy, social sciences, or a related field.
Professional experience in a policy-related role, preferably within a government agency.
