The Role
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide high-level geotechnical services to support.
Based in Sydney or Bathurst, you will report to our Technical Managers and will sit within a team of 25, supporting our professional staff and drilling operations.
This role is for a versatile and well-organised team player.
Key responsibilities include
Commitment to safety and compliance with all WHS requirements.
Preparation of tenders, safety documentation and technical reports.
Provide advice on excavations, earthworks, retaining walls, foundations (deep and shallow), pavements and temporary works.
Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS****, AS****, AS****, AS****, AS****) and AUSTROADS pavement design guides.
Manage teams through the stages of a geotechnical investigation and construction phase services.
Liaise with the client to understand scope of work and requirements, organise teams and resources, monitor investigations, collate and review information, submit samples to laboratories, analyse and report, and liaise with clients, key external and internal stakeholders.
Mentoring and management of junior staff and drillers.
Attend site to carry out field work as necessary.
Uphold and adhere to company quality and safety standards.
The ideal Candidate:
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Geology.
At least 8 years' experience in a similar role.
Strong attention to detail.
Highly organised and motivated.
Current full driver's licence.
Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written).
Strong working knowledge of NSW and QLD and national legislative requirements.
Ability to work well in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software (e.g., Open Ground, Slope Stability Software, CIRCLY, QGIS).
Problem-solving skills.
Scheduling of works and associated staff in conjunction with management.
Hold or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration.
