Bring your skills and experience, become a steward of our council environment in a modern organisation that's making a tangible differenceJOB DETAILS 1 X Permanent Full Time & 1 X Temporary Full time 12 months 35 hours, 5 days/week $85,411.40 to $96,976.47 + SuperJOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Waste Project Officers to contribute to the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of our Waste Management and Resource Recovery programs.
This is a key role in supporting our sustainability goals, reducing waste to landfill, and advancing Liverpool's circular economy initiatives.This role involves:Developing and implementing waste strategies and policiesCoordinating and managing waste-related projects, tenders and contractsProviding expert advice on waste, recycling and resource recovery issuesEngaging with residents, community groups, and internal teams to promote waste avoidance, reuse and recyclingSupporting the assessment of Development Applications with waste-related requirementsActively integrating sustainability principles into operations and community programsABOUT YOUTertiary qualifications in waste management, environmental science or a related fieldExperience in waste, resource recovery, sustainability or environmental managementStrong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skillsKnowledge of current waste management legislation, ecological sustainable development and resource recovery systemsAbility to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teamsCurrent NSW Class C Driver's LicenceBENEFITSOF WORKING AT LCCSalary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.Access to a Fitness Passport membershipInternal professional Learning and DevelopmentHealth and wellbeing benefits including 2 x Health and Wellbeing leaves and access to our Employee Assistance ProgramLiverpool City Council is committed to providing aworking environment that supports all employeesto reach their full potential.To be eligible to apply for permanent positions atLiverpool City Council, you need to be an AustralianCitizen or Permanent Resident.We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and value diversity and inclusion inour workplace.
